Visiting the Tianzi mountain nature reserve in China has been on my bucket list for years. Until I'm able to see them in person, I'll have to settle for painting and animating the scenery! The illustration was painted in Procreate, edited in Photoshop and animated in After Effects.

The illustration was inspired by some holiday photos I took in rainy Tokyo. After finishing the illustration it reminded me of an anime background, so I decided to animate the rain and add some immersive sounds.
